This Swingling post is about 5 years ago, you may of seen it before, it revolves around a TIS station in Washington that been broadcasting the same road closures for the 2013 presidential inauguration uniterupted for 8 years. Also actual recordings of the broadcast there.
But what's most interesting is in the comments, only a few down and the longest post there. The guy tells a story, at some length, about how he hacked into it and replaced the message with some Frank Zappa song deemed unfit for airplay in the U.S., he said 8 weeks later it was still playing.. I don't agree with what he did but it's an interesting story. The other comments are interesting too.
What really sticks out is the state of TIS, you'd think in the midst of all this AM in Cars Act that more of these Hwy departments would be maintaining their TIS stations a little better.
It really is worth a read.
