due to constant threats received from emails about my part 15 radio station, ham radio cars driving around my neighbourhood very luciously and finally tumour free… and also affilating with a full power fm radio station…
i decidied to shut down KDSX for good… our last day on the air was november 15, 2014 and with the last song was It’s so hard to say goodbye by boyz 2 men and saying “this was kdsx” i signed off the station at 10:00 pm on the dot…
however i will be on the board somewhat helping others on here and while i wish things could have gone differently but i guess things happen for a reason…
see you around

Streaming Option…
Except for the SoundCrime fee for streaming audio would continuing as a streaming station be an option?
If nothing else, keep producing programs and offer them to other stations for air play. The ALPB would welcome that opportunity whole heartedly.

Let’s Look In Depth
Andrew, I have been looking for people who hate part 15 and you seem to have a few of them pestering you.
I would like to see the threatening e-mails they sent you, and I wish to know their names, call letters, addresses and phone numbers so I can interview them on The Low Power Hour about why they hate part 15 radio.
I have been looking for people like that for several years, I hope you can put me in touch with them.
I am different than they are, I will not be threatening them in any way, I just want them to have a chance to talk to the part 15 community about why they have a grudge.

ham operator north texas?
at first i thought it was a couple of members here on this website, but after a lengthy discussion it wasn’t them…
since from july until i stopped broadcasting, i noticed cars with ham radio licenses plates on the front and rear of the vehicles, (however there is a ham operating in my neighbourhood but his vehicles dont have ham plates) im pretty damn sure the instigators are ham radio operators from the dallas fort worth area and/or the suburbs of dfw… i’ve seen 2 cars driving around this neighbourhood i live in and one car there was a man and the other car was woman, and im pretty sure i have the woman indentified…
and you know what… im done with part 15 radio… i will not tolerate threats regardless of how the small or huge it is… i do not feel safe operating a part 15 here in north texas anymore… take a look at mighty1650, jerry gaule, hamtrack am and others… forget it im too bugged out to even continue and espically a few months back when i was trying get rid of a tumour from my left breast is when things got way worse with the threats and other things…
so long story short i think its some ham operators from dfw, i’ve been getting threats from them for several months got worse when i was battling to get rid of the tumour and the hormonal therapy after that and now since i work at a terrestial radio station i am alot happier in radio now then i was a few months back with my operation so…

Threats?
Andrew, tell me about the threats. You said they were e-mails… what did they actually threaten?
Can you quote those e-mail threats word for word so we can know what you were threatened with?
I am wondering if the HAM license plates were maybe just friends of the neighborhood HAM who just happened to be driving by?

Happiness Found…
Andrew, I am pleased to read that you have been able to continue in radio.
Details of your radio work would be very interesting conversation for an ALPB TeamSpeak meeting. If nothing else perhaps you would agree to have our resident interviewer, Carl Blare, have you as a guest speaker on his Low Power Hour program.

Thanks
Thanks for sharing the good news of your medical condition, thanks for participating here, and I hope all is well for you.
I don’t understand why you would be receiving threats from ham operators. I am a ham operator and have been engaged in Part 15 radio on and off for about 58 years and I think it is a nice complement to ham radio where what I learn from Part 15 radio can be applied to ham radio and vice versa.
During those years I have only heard two Part 15 stations and was very pleased that I did. I did drive around with my ham call plates to locate the second one because I was interested in their range. The thought of a vigilante attitude toward them never entered my mind but I suppose people are different.
I am sorry that you need to deactivate your station but sometimes it is best to move on.
