Tim,

Like you, I have an Inovonics 525 mod monitor, which I bought new a couple of months ago.

This morning, I found it with both the positive and negative peak readings maxxed out and frozen.  I unplugged it, gave it a rest, and plugged in back in.  No dice.  All I get is a lighted display with no characters on it.

Wondering if you've had a similar experience?  Or if you have any suggestions for things I can try before sending it back for repair?  The manual has no troubleshooting section, and a Google search doesn't turn up anything.  Plus, this stuff always happens on the weekend when you can't call the manufacturer, right?

Any thoughts?  Thanks!

I have not had any issues with mine, and it's unusual that simply powering down and back up again wouldn't clear it's "brain".

I'm away from the studio right now so I can't have a look.  But I don't believe there's any sort of reset.  I would imagine that it does have some non-volatile memory that even after power down stays intact and perhaps the problem is there, and it's staying in this memory, in which case some sort of reset should resolve the issue.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

TIB

Thanks, Tim.  I've got a call and an email in to Inovonics support, and I'll let you know what they tell me, in case you ever have the same problem.

Tim and anyone else who's going be using an Inovonics 525,

Talked with Inovonics support today.  (VERY prompt and they seemed like nice human beings, by the way.)  Looks like it's a failed microprocessor, so it's going back to them for repair.

I wish a simple reboot trick would have solved the problem, but it 'tis what it 'tis.
