Do I dare ask the question if the FCC is going to pull out all the stops to falsify a DDOS attack to try and close down net neutrality does that also possibly mean that's some of the claims about Pirate Radio is also BS?

And what about the so-called AM revitalization?  I've often said there's more to the plan then what the FCC is trying to let the public know on this revitalization plan.

Honestly I'm not trying to hijack a topic just pointing out that if they're going to lie about net neutrality and a falsified hacker attack as a way to try and defeat it then too if money is involved would they not lie to cover up a lobbyist plot or a corporation's plot to do something?

If there was truly a plan to revitalize AM why are the FM translators popping up at every turn and every single month on the I love AM radio Facebook page I am hearing more stories of AM radio stations shutting down there am transmitters?  Could the FCC be trying to avoid public comment or protest that there radios that once were able to receive both am and FM will only be allowed to receive FM?

I would like to think that the FCC doesn't lie and that they are an organization that we can trust with the radio spectrum. But this blatant show of disrespect and out right deceitful action makes me wonder in 2018 if this is the future for the government here in the United States?

I'm not trying to make this a political topic just trying to get some thought here and how it effects us radio fanatics and while we're at it part 15 am broadcasting? Is the FCC secretly planning to shut down the am band like in other countries that have already done this? If they do shut it down does part 15 broadcasting have to cease and desist on am broadcasting van or will it be allowed to continue without any regulation as the band will be nonexistent and unless you're causing harm to the rest of the spectrum you will be pretty much under the radar?

I'll leave some room for comments and concerns on this one I'm sure there's a lot of thought and my mind is racing on this one.

Seeing the Future With TheLegacy

Troy, I always enjoy the way you launch into vivid speculations about the future:

"Is the FCC secretly planning to shut down the am band like in other countries that have already done this? If they do shut it down does part 15 broadcasting have to cease and desist on am broadcasting van or will it be allowed to continue without any regulation as the band will be nonexistent and unless you’re causing harm to the rest of the spectrum you will be pretty much under the radar?"

When I try to see the future I get very little result but you see it as plain as day.

Part of practicing Hinduism, Wicca and Metaphysics.  Also pay attention to the chain of events.

Broadcasters will cash in on a dying band as long as possible just like the VCR was replaced by video laser disk and later DVD and later DVD replaced by the Blu-ray and now DVR and Digital.

AM receivers sold in the USA are a JOKE.  You have to rely on EBay Australia for a C-Quam receiver.  You have to rely overseas for a C-Quam transmitter.

Sangean remove the code for C-Quam when they did a firmware update to the HDR one table radio. So if you want C-Quam you can never update the firmware to your HD radio.

There is a Sinister plot and yet most people have not seen the light when it's right there.  Digital FM or hybrid digital is what Nautel wants to sell to Radio stations and the NAB is buying the idea hook line and sinker.  So there is little room for a band that listeners have a sour taste for. It takes money from their pocket.  In other words follow the money not your heart.

I just purchased a CQUAM receiver - a Sony STR-AV470 (sold only in Canada and Australia).  There are actually quite a few CQUAM capable receivers on e-bay if you know what you're looking for - most sellers don't really understand what they are selling either.

The basic problem is that few North American broadcasters on the AM band use CQUAM.  Why bother supporting it when there is no material to listen to?

Sadly, that doesn't surprise me.  The FCC's attitude is usually "we can do whatever we want to do".  🙁
