Sweden launches AI music licence to protect songwriters

Sept 9 (Reuters) - Sweden’s music rights organisation has introduced a licence that allows artificial intelligence companies to legally use copyrighted songs for training their models, while ensuring that songwriters and composers are paid.

To protect them from what, bad AI writing?

The Swedes would be better off forming the Swedish AI Bad Writing Combat Squad. Secretly introduce a quality writing program for 3rd graders to outperform machines.

I am for protecting the artists somehow but I object fervently over ASCAP, et al, from getting any more pennies from the degenerates I like that make good art. I suspect somehow the middlemen are actually upset they won't get their cut.

I highly suspect most do their own writing and composition of song structures. Yes AI can certainly write lyrics but I seriously doubt song writers are simply having AI create the lyrics. What would be the point in that?

AI is a tool that's been commonly utilized for decades now. In recent years it gotten more advanced, but .. you know
