I managed to track down the real name of Carl Blare a while ago, but for various reasons, he went under a pseudonym and obviously didn't want it known.
Today I 'm sad to announce that I have verified that he passed away in February 2025.
I know that many suspected this, as he just disappeared from this site, but I always held out hope that it was not the case.
I knew Carl online for a long time, and considered him a friend. I am saddened that we will never 'hear' his voice again, except in the exceptional radio programs that he produced.
Yes sad to hear that too despite some postings on his blog that made me have a negative opinion of him and Artisan and I had to make sure it didn't get on this forum.
But personally I didn't think much about that he wasn't here anymore as anyone on here can loose interest and not be heard from anymore. Look how many members from the past....hundreds that all disappeared from the forum that were here at some point and no one wonders what happened to them.
Artisan, you are so good at researching and finding things that I sure couldn't if my life depended on it.
But a RIP from me too.
Carl was a mainstay of this Forum (I joined Part15.us in 2006, he joined a year after) and a founding member of the ALPB. He single-handedly kept the ALPB Forum going for several years until it caught on and became quite active. He also created the ALPB website.
As an aside, he didn't deserve what happened to him in the ALPB, and the fallout was one of the main reasons it dissolved.
He's been missed the past year, and will be missed even more now that we know that he's never coming back.
Could you elaborate a bit on how you confirmed this?
I discovered public records that indicated an individual whom I had identified (to my satisfaction) as Carl had passed away shortly after he disappeared from the Forum.
