I always knew that South Africa had produced OTR shows, but I was never aware of just how many until I read this.
Springbok Radio was a commercial service in that country that existed from 1950 to 1985.
A lot of the shows listed in the article are available on Youtube (and via other sources as well). I'm currently downloading The Stories of Sherlock Holmes; I listened to a show briefly and it had good sound quality. From the reviews, it's also well written.
Mark, and others, may be interested in exploring this source of content.
That's pretty cool, wasn't familiar with them. Although I'm sure you're aware of these but here's some sources to download.
At the Internet Archive Springbok Library Of The Air, are a bunch of episodes spaning 1957 through 1985, right now I'm listening to "Ring of Thoth" from 1957, not only is it crystal clear but it's actually entertaining..

There's a Facebook page too:
Never heard of that. I'll have to see if I can find some episodes and sample a few of them.
If you do a search at Internet Archive for "South Africa Radio Collection" you'll get tons of series. One that intrigues me is "The Avengers". But there are lots of others that look interesting.

The Archive link above is South African Radio Show Collection No 17 I'm not sure how many episodes it holds, but there's plenty.
