I think a lot about the matter of AI (Artificially Intelligent) staff. Would they not be categorized as 'broadcast equipment'? Could they accomplish jobs in addition to announcing, such as 'station manager'? If you hold a staff meeting in your role as 'station owner' would you gather not only human employees but AI staff as well? What kind of assignments would you hand out to the AI staff? Certainly you would expect them to know and obey FCC rules for on-air protocol, such as refraining from inappropriate language and making the hourly station ID.
My station uses some digital 'proxy' announcers, but they are not AI because they have nothing to say unless I type out a script and click a button to initiate the 'text to speech' function. An AI DJ can simply be told, "Get on the air and talk about red-light cameras". You would tell the AI guy to research the subject on the internet, saving you the task. If your AI announcer started saying things you didn't want on the air could you fire him or at least warn him to 'watch it'? Could he go over your head and take over your job?
I'd kind of like to put an AI personality on the afternoon shift. Where can I find available AI talent? Place an ad in a trade journal? Are out of work AI announcers submitting resumes and audition tapes?
My own intelligence on the subject of Artificial Intelligence is obviously lacking, but I am open to experimentation, if only I knew where to start. I need an AI Consultant.
