Here's a 1970s Part 15 AM transmitter I never came across before. Manufactured by Rockwell Products, "Wireless Wizard". It was heavily advertised in newspapers across the U.S. (including Alaska) and Canada during November and December 1976. I havent found it advertised in any magazines and 1976 is the only year I see them anywhere. Has anyone ever seen one of these?
Not me, never seen it. but I like the idea of using a radio as a guitar amp.
Don't think it caught on though.
No, don't look like it caught on at all. Yeah, oddly they dont mention it could easily be connected it to a tape deck or whatever. But they do emphasize its mobility; "..loudly and clearly through your car radio. Especially great in convertibles and vans. .. will function as a P.A.. Complete with battery..."
Be interesting to find the manual (unlikely) and see what kind of antenna it used.
For $15, even in 1976, it couldn't have been that good. Wonder if it was certified?
