@mark ....It's by a massive lake . I don't know the mineral content of the water but the land around it has some of the highest conductivity in the US.  The majority of it signal is over the lake , doesn't cover anywhere near the land distance.  It reminds me of DJ Troy Talking House transmitter.  It had solid two mile coverage over land and 5 miles that I know of crossing the saltwater river 5 miles away. It was very strong over the saltwater and I would think it was covering 10 miles or more over the saltwater .  Here in the US one watt is allowed on longwave ,with a 50 foot antenna ....Sounds great but not really , that far down in the spectrum one watt ends up being less than 100 milliwatts when it comes to antenna efficiency. ...Yet signals from the one watt transmitter s can be heard 150 250 miles away .  I heard a weak station on 1710 many years ago. The station was playing old radio shows from the 30s ...I always wondered if it was Radio Antioch,  north of Chicago... They were transmitting on 1710 during that time period.

Wow, being in the USA that's a long time to wait to get an order! Over a month?
But I have a fault, I like to get things now, like express 2 day delivery. I hate waiting for something. Nice I can order something from Amazon at 10 in the evening and it comes the following afternoon.

Saturday isn't far off. Something to look forward to. Interested in how it does against the Procaster.

The new Rangemaster am1000 transmitter arrived today. It looks like it will be a while before I can get it up and running. Rain and cold weather prohibits it from happening for the near future.
