We need to tell congress to stop trying to invade our privacy on the internet and to stop trying to ram innovation stifling and privacy robbing internet legislation down our throats!!! these internet legislation have the potential to directly affect our ability to communicate here. it would spell a very bad day for part 15 us if any of this came to pass.

Our Internet is under assault by Big Government statists, and C4L
has a plan to fight back.
Please take a few moments to read the email below and take
action.
In Liberty,
Teri
Dear Teri,
When is the last time you clicked on a website, chatted on
Facebook, bought something off the Internet, or watched an online
video?
If you’re like most Americans, you take the speed, easy access,
and relative privacy and anonymity of the Internet for granted.
But, thanks to the menacing schemes of out-of-control government
bureaucrats, I’m afraid all that could come to a crashing halt.
So won’t you please add your name to the list of signers to
Campaign for Liberty’s INTERNET FREEDOM MANIFESTO?
It’s absolutely critical I reach 100,000 signers by the month’s
end.
So I’m counting on you to add your name, forward this email to at
least five of your friends, and – if possible – make a generous
contribution, as well.
The Internet and its technology have revolutionized communication
and created entire industries and millions of new jobs over the
past 20 years.
The iPhone App alone has created more than half-a-million jobs in
the United States just since 2007!
But while free Americans are using the technological revolution
for good, statists have conjured up more sinister uses.
Just imagine government bureaucrats armed with whatever they want
to know about you right at their fingertips.
What you read. What you watch. What you buy. What you say.
Who you talk to.
http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/9380046:12800704082:m:3:231329185:9AA5CDBBE69A4413927304223BA9902E:r
Imagine it all being tied into an intricate network combining
your Internet use, your credit card purchases, your tax records,
your health records . . .
Imagine the Internet – and with it, the entire technological
revolution – SHUT DOWN with a ball of higher taxes, government
snooping, and bureaucratic red tape.
And just consider the torrent of massive new regulatory schemes
in Congress, including:
*** The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA),
which would gut privacy laws and allow Internet providers and
websites to hand over personal data to ANY agency in the federal
government;
*** Internet Sales Taxes designed to hike the price of goods
sold over the Internet;
*** The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), which would give the
government the power to shut down any website simply because
someone made the “allegation” there was a copyright violation;
*** The Internet “Kill Switch,” which would allow the President
to shut down the entire Internet at a moment’s notice.
Already, the FCC – which is supposed to assign spectrum rights
through transparent, market-based auctions – is using its power
to shackle new competition be REFUSING to perform its job.
Spectrum is the invisible airwaves that mobile devices, broadcast
television, and FM radio use to communicate.
Private ownership of spectrum is forbidden by government.

And since government controls the rights, the FCC gets to pick
the winners and the losers – denying marketplace entry on a whim
and effectively creating the largest corporate welfare program in
history!
That’s not even the half of it.
In just a few months, the United Nations is meeting to come up
with even more recommendations for Internet regulations on a
GLOBAL scale!
robert, these are not fights you and I can afford to lose.
But without lightening-fast response by you and me to these
fights going on RIGHT NOW, I’m afraid our government will whittle
away Internet speed, access, privacy down to virtually nothing.
And with it, strike a death blow to our liberty movement.
After all, the Internet has been a critical tool in rallying more
and more Americans to our cause over these past few years.
That’s why I’m counting on you to sign on to Campaign for
Liberty’s INTERNET FREEDOM MANIFESTO immediately.
And if you can, I also hope you’ll agree to chip in a
contribution of $50, $25, or even $10.
By signing on, you’ll allow me to prove to Members of Congress
just how many Americans are opposed to these radical schemes.
But that’s not all.
http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/9380046:12800704082:m:3:231329185:9AA5CDBBE69A4413927304223BA9902E:r
Once you sign the INTERNET FREEDOM MANIFESTO, I’ll make sure
you’re added to a grassroots army of patriots nationwide who
receive special Internet-related legislative updates.
You see, the statists in Washington, D.C. aren’t pushing just one
massive bill that you and I can mobilize against, defeat, and
then stop worrying about.
You and I are going to have to stay on guard until we send the
message to every Congressman and Senator that if they vote to
regulate, tax, or spy on us via the Internet, THEY’LL LOSE THEIR
JOBS.
As the Manifesto says:
“As a Member of Congress, you are being put on notice.
“Those who would increase seek increased taxes and regulations on
the Internet and seek to further destroy online privacy and
anonymity will pay a severe political price at the polls.”
And with fights raging in Congress, the sooner you and I send
this message, the better.
But as I mentioned, I’m trying to reach 100,000 signatures in the
next 30 days.
And I’m hopeful that will just be the beginning.
There are several fights already going on in Congress. More pop
up seemingly by the week.
So there’s no time to waste.
Won’t you please sign your INTERNET FREEDOM MANIFESTO and forward
this email to at least five of your friends?
http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/9380046:12800704082:m:3:231329185:9AA5CDBBE69A4413927304223BA9902E:r
Even if you believe they may have received this email, I believe
your urging can make a real difference in getting them to sign
up.
And if you can, please agree to chip in a contribution, as well.
Your financial support will help me contact up to 12 million
Americans, urging them to mobilize against assaults on Internet
freedom.
The more signers I get, the stronger the message you and I can
send.
So please sign your INTERNET FREEDOM MANIFESTO and forward this
email to at least five of your friends IMMEDIATELY!
http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/9380046:12800704082:m:3:231329185:9AA5CDBBE69A4413927304223BA9902E:r
And if you can, please agree to chip in a contribution of $50,
$25, or even $10 TODAY!
In Liberty,
Matt Hawes
Vice President
P.S. Fights are raging in Congress right now to tax and regulate
the Internet, restrict access, and ramp up government spying
efforts. Should they succeed, it could strike a death blow to
the liberty movement.
That’s why I’m counting on you to help me reach 100,000 signers
of Campaign for Liberty’s INTERNET FREEDOM MANIFESTO in the next
30 days.

A Note Worth Considering
The thing that has to be realized is that these politicians who are already filthy rich long before they even get into office is that they spend millions on campaigns for election to land a job that pays a fraction of what was spent just to get in there.
And that millions is not even their own money.
Does anyone really think these politicians are going to be intimidated by a threat of loosing their “job” when their salary for being in office doesn’t even put a b-b dent in their bank account?
No, they will laugh and just go on like you are not even there. Besides, they are not the ones who are really in control. The big banks, monopolies, monarchs and wall street gangsters are. The ones in the shadows who never show their faces and are never linked to anything so as not to be held accountable.
It’s easy to control a governing body when all it’s members gladly take kick backs and patty on the backie incentives.
Want to attack the problem, DON’T VOTE FOR THESE IDIOTS!!!
Want to solve the problem, IMPEACH EVERY ONE OF THEM!!
Want to keep from repeating the same problem, PAY ATTENTION AND GET INVOLVED!
Let’s see how many wish to be duped again come November.
After January…no one should have anything to complain about..right?
After all, they are saviors from the government, they are here to help! LOL!!! :/

From what I’ve heard…
…the purpose of CISPA is to stop all these hackers from hacking into databases. Listen to the news. Yahoo, LastFM, and god knows how many others have been hacked by these terrible people. This bill is supposed to stop all this hacking from going on. I haven’t read the bill, so there could be alot of other nasty junk added into it that I don’t know about.
I do agree that SOPA and the other bill that was stopped a few months ago were terrible pieces of legislation that needed to be stopped.
Another piece of legislation I am against is the Performance Rights Act, also known as the “performance tax”. That piece of legislation will ream us and all other radio stations with more royalty fees. From what I heard on local radio over the last few years, it could reduce what songs the stations play and what contests they could do. This bill could have been shot down last year. I haven’t heard anything about it in a year or more, so I’m not sure. All I know is I’m definitely against it.

Also, to Lefty
I was in favor of Ron Paul until Romney wiped everyone else off the map. Now I’m probably going to vote for an independent candidate. I think Obama is a worthless socialist and Romney is Bush the 3rd. We don’t need either one in the white house.
Hope I haven’t stirred up a hornet’s nest.

A Quote That Would Have Been Perfect
Having already read this thread about the political landscape that endangers the peaceful running of part 15 radio stations, I heard at that exact same time a quote from George Orwell, author of “1984”, which would have gone perfectly right now.
What I should do is try to figure out what program used that quote, and go get it.
I don’t recall ever seeing that quote in the book “1984”, but I found out by checking out library books that George Orwell also wrote essays and newspaper columns and all kinds of printed material.
I don’t remember the political quote well enough to paraphrase it, so what I need to do is start flipping pages until I find it, then I will bring this thread back to life with those words.
I have to go now, I’ll be reading for awhile.

#1 we don’t need anymore
#1 we don’t need anymore internet legislation than we already have. what we have on the books is enough to prosecute the offenders if they chose to use those laws on the books. i liken it to the gun laws. we don’t need anymore. the colorado shooter would have never happened if existing gun laws already on the books had been enforced.
#2 i was kind of leaning to Ron Paul the other one i liked was was fred thompson.
i’m behind paul on his audit the fed 100% this needs to be done than the fed needs to be pried loose from the private British banksters and put under the federal government or eliminated entirely.

Hit The Target
The bigger problem here is not the bozos up on the hill or the daily showing of puppets on the evening news.
It’s the behind the scenes billionaires, centuries old monarchs and elites that are in real control of the real world.
The puppet merely plays the role. The puppet must be controlled.
“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain”.
How old is that phrase? And what motion picture feature is it from?
