Did you know that tomorrow, Monday, February 13, 2012 is World Radio Day? It almost flew by unnoticed, but for Paul Thurst in his Engineering Radio Blog

Won’t See Reality “It almost flew by unnoticed, but for Paul Thurst in his Engineering Radio Blog”
Either this fella is living in a virtual bubble of reality or totally ignoring the real world around him.
Sounding off as if the task of getting an LPFM is no big matter and as simple as digging for pocket change.
He must have a very big emergency funds coffer under the bed.
I see non profit organizations being forced to either downsize or shut down all together due to the wonderful economy. Some of which are organizations that help people with food, housing and other assistance.
Oh…he leaves out the fact that there are thousands of applicants who already went through the ringers and are at the front of the FCC’s first come first serve line. He leaves out the fact that the spectrum is still auctioned off to the highest bidder..as are the licenses. He leaves out the fact, and someone else had to point it out…other expenses that cannot be found on ebay auctions at a cheap price, like the electric bill, insurances, oh and expenses of the poor hungry fella who needs to earn a few bucks to go buy a deli sandwich and coke hoping enough can be made to cover the rent and bills next week.
And totally leaving out the fact that the FM band is already crowded that there are stations on every channel. So where are these proposed LPFM’s supposed to transmit in a spectrum that is bursting at it’s ends now?
The mere fact that you have to form a non-profit organization just to meet the basic requirement for an LPFM already points to special interest purposes. Where is the frigging difference then?
I really wish these hi on the hog uppers will step down from their pillars to the real world on the real level and see the real world instead of dreaming of realities that are only in their head.

World Radio Day – Exactly One Day Before Valentine’s Day????? Who thought that one up?
Every single dude in the world that
has a woman in his life that is:
(Cue Creepy Music) “Buuuuuuhhhhhhh
Duuuuuuuuummmmmmmmm) (Open creaky door)
…MORE THAN JUST A FRIEND… Is terrified
that he will do something WRONG with his
Valentine’s Day preparations. Then he will
be in a world of – – well you know, he’ll
be out in the night trying to keep warm
inside of a mailbox. (And that’s got to
be a federal crime, don’t you think?)
This includes broadcast engineers and
dudeineers (like me) that fit into the above
category.
How about February 21? That gives you a
week to get over Valentine’s Day, in case
you messed it up.
