For a while now I’ve been Preparing to buy me a SSTRAN. I finally purchased one from Phil last week. It came in the mail fully assembled and nearly ready to go. Me and my dad borrowed my uncle’s voltage meter and I peaked it at about 16 volts. My dad hooked it up to the telephone ground and I was expecting about 200 foot at best. At sundown me and my dad got into our car and drove up our driveway and got a crisp signal all the way to the highway.

That’s about 1000 feet. tomorrow I will do some more tests during daylight howers to see how it will do.

Interesting
Hi Travis,
What is a “telephone ground”? It sounds as if perhaps you are using the telephone line as an antenna. More details would be interesting.
