Today is complaint day and I’m back in line with another one.
I wanted to review the Radio Systems products for carrier current, but their rather paltry website, with no search facility, offers very little with no trace of carrier current.
Listen, kc8gpd, would you mind having a neighbor up there on Isolated Mountain?
I am not superstitious, and yet everything I try to do (today) seems like it can’t be done.
Let’s see, the SAM Broadcaster thing fell through, the carrier current went no where, guess maybe its time to think about ground radials out in the chilly wind.

Bum Days
Well it happens. I’m sure the SAM thing will be resolved at some point. The CC stuff over on the RS site is basic info, they do not have much beyond that other than product info.
Perhaps it is a sign to do nothing but enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Or it’s the hobby radio nothing goes as planed curse that creeps in for a visit every now and then!

Found Out
By poking around like an idiot I have found that Radio Systems has two home pages.
This first one has no evident connection with the carrier current equipment
http://www.radiosystems.com
This other one has the carrier current plus other things
http://www.radiosystems.com/index.php
The carrier current transmitter is the TR-6000 which covers the AM band with 10 Watts, but it does not mention having an adjustable output power nor do they state a price.
Good. I’ll be annoyed by those two facts.

TR-6000
Should be power adjustable. Then again they may have changed it.
If it is not adjustable, that would be pointless because in all CC installations the signal strength must conform to the 15.221 spec, and that cannot be met with a TX with a pre-set power level and you need it to be lower to meet the regulations.

It Is Afterall
Luckily the brochure was a click away and tells that the TR-6000 is adjustable from 0 to 10 Watts. It would be good to put that fact out on the product description so that people like me don’t get the wrong first impression.
Does anyone know the price?

Shot In The Dark
Just going by the CP-15 price, I would take a wild guess and throw out a price between 480 and 650.
Patience, those LPB’s show up on ebay eventually, perhaps even a complete system, which also show up now and then.
