The “satellite” feed is really just an internet stream with live personalities from iheartradio.com. The stream is a very high quality stream and stereo. All free of charge. I am using Zara Radio to insert local sweepers over the stream to keep the local image. The personalities do not say any station name, so it can be used for any station. And there is no commercial breaks in the programming.
Here is the link to the feed that I am using: http://tinyurl.com/yb6ll7t
You can find a list of other formats and their feeds here: http://www.iheartradio.com/cc-common/hdradio/
Just a thought if you wanted live personalities that introduce songs, and talk about famous birthdays in the mornings, and have an all request drive at 5 (Eastern time), talk about what’s on TV tonight, and the news.

Oldies Feed
How do you schedule it in with Zara Radio? (I know that probably sounds like a dumb question) Where do I find the link to insert in Zara’s internet stream box.

I had basically set my sound
I had basically set my sound card to be the satellite input in ZaraRadio. I could not actually find the direct link to where the stream was coming from. But I could still insert sweepers over the “satellite” (really just the sound card that has the stream playing). Another problem with this is scheduling the sweepers to go on by themselves. Which I think is nearly impossible, because you never know what song is going to be on next and if the DJ is going to talk over the song. The only way I could do it was when I was at the station pressing the button manually. But I can’t sit there all 24 hours of the day, so there were some parts of the day that my station didn’t get identified.

I wish on the Today’s Mix
I wish on the Today’s Mix feed they would not announce you are listening to iheartradio. The djs have said that you can find his information on that site, which is fine. One the soft rock feed, they said you are listening to: (blank) The soft rock channel.
I don’t have a station active at this time, but I’m trying. I want to buy a ChezRadio Procaster to serve my community of 1500 residence, but finances prevent that from happening it at this time, with buying a house and all.
Have been browsing this board for a LONG time, over a year, and have learned some great info. Thanks to all the posters, and keep up the great work.

Yes, that is one thing that I don’t like either. I do know that many ClearChannel radio stations use these feeds and the personalities say that you can find them on the iHeartRadio website (even on a commercial station that has their own website they still say it). I wish I was able to edit out the promo section in between the songs in their feeds and put my own station in that 2-3 second slot. Right now, I think that that is nearly impossible…if anyone has any ideas how this would work let me know. The only way is to record and edit each hour..but I don’t possibly have time to do that.

Recording and editing was an idea of mine until I was listening on Sunday Night. They said it was Sunday and also gave a reference to a TV special that was on that night. What my idea was to record it, edit it, then air it the next day. The reference to the TV special shot that all to heck.
