Greets,
Just a quick note so you know whats going on. Apologies for the recent downtime, we lost the hardware that hosted this and a bunch of other sites that I run. Unfortunately at the same time of the loss of the hardware, an issue came to light: a typo in the data backup process for part15.us We lost about a month’s worth of data for the website ๐
I apologize for not posting this sooner, I’ve been crazy busy restoring websites. Also, so you guys know, there is no security issue, as that rumor came up elsewhere. We haven’t been hacked. your accounts and data are safe. ๐
Again, sorry for the downtime and loss of data. that issue is corrected and won’t happen again!

Two “thank you”s
The biggest “thank you” to Steve for setting up and maintaining a system that can economically serve our rather large visitor traffic – making it possible for this site to even exist!
Check your browser cache – maybe you can help Steve by finding some cached pages with lost data.
A teeny, tiny ‘thank you’ to the lovely haters who so kindly posted such obviously ridiculous nonsense about security issues – you really can’t buy that kind of publicity, thanks for helping us get the word out about Part15.us ๐

Big Welcome
To the wonderful keepers of the flame…
A Big Welcome back to the web!
During the outage you were very much missed as these shared questions and ideas about micro-radio are part of our life in the world.
I suggest letting the missing material re-materialize on its own, as we tend to cover the same ground many times.
Thank you for your lively site!

Is Forever Real?
This is the perfect time to ask about something that’s heard a lot. Security experts are always saying, what goes on the web stays there forever.
If that is true, how could one-month’s content be lost on this site?
Maybe the web doesn’t last forever.

It seems like the web is selective ๐
The web only seems to be forever when it comes to information I wish would go away – embarrassing photos, rants on the USENET from 1989, a poorly designed web page from 1996…
The stuff I want to keep seems to disappear far too quickly and far too frequently…

Site Recovery
Thanks Steve for all your hard work to keep the site tuned. Stuff happens and it can be very difficult to recover site function as well as you have. Your work is appreciated!
