Radio personality’s are best themselves when on the air.
Without part 15, many radio personality’s would have no last ditch chance chance of speaking on the dial.

Husbands feel very insecure around a radio personality, because their lack of microphone manner becomes too obvious.
Before the invention of radio the great personalities wandered the backroads in search of an unknown dream.

Yes very true. Im a different
Yes very true. Im a different animal when I go on air. One day my land lady was around and talking to me when I had to go on-air. After I finished she laughed and said you are another person when you talk on the radio. The microphone has strange powers to make us in to 2 people, well I blame it on the microphone or is it the voice in my head.

Now He Thinks of It
It’s a little bit too late now, but I’m thinking that some of my early dating experiences might have gone better if they had been broadcast live.

Radio Personality
Since I work with an engineer when I’m on the air, I tend to ignore the microphone and work off of the engineers reactions to what I’m saying; its like I’m having a conversation with him. I think that alpha type personalities do well on the air since they tend to be outgoing. Your right; I only shut up once the engineer kills my mic.

Don’t Cross The Engineer!
“I only shut up once the engineer kills my mic.”
The world is at the mercy of engineers.
Without engineers, nothing would get built, or fixed, or designed, or maintained, or replaced, or even operated correctly.
Yet it is the engineer who is last in the line to be recognized and appreciated, but the first to call when something goes poof.
And when no one listens to the engineer the first time, why is it anyone wonders what the engineer is angry about?!!
Engineers love their work. Engineers are unique. We can take rocks and sticks and turn them into flamethrowers and machines of wonder.
But in reality, the only time the engineer is valued to the level of anything else, is when something breaks.
Engineers are like doctors and lawyers….it’s a love to hate to hate to love relationship.

Don’t Cross The Engineer!
The engineers (both operating and technical) at our station are greatly appreciated. So much they are recognized at the end of each program; in fact they have their own personal jingle which they may use as needed. We recognize–as they do–that they are a critical part of our operation and we’d have it no other way.

A Cultural Divide
It is true and I have seen it myself…
Upper management who see engineers as somewhere between janitor and trash collector.
Now, I happen to think that janitors and trash collectors are important to the running of society, and should be treated well. But you know how the uppity set can be.
Truth about engineers is, they are on the same plane as any manager or bossy type; easily more crucial to actual operation.
