I was sitting here enjoying the critical hours with both 1550 and 1680 KHz radiating to the bird and human-mammal houses in a radius of 200-feet, when I suddenly became aware that everyone on part15.us seems to be male gender. Is this true? Why wouldn’t there be women on part 15. I even recall that a few bloggers said they “saved their marriage” or “avoided the wife’s scorn” by reducing part 15 activity.
Then it became clear. My purpose in life is to interest women in part 15 radio. This should be a gender friendly website where all nine genders can mingle. I threw that in because I’m not sure exactly how many genders there are, but I know of definitely two of them.

Part 15 and Gender
I’ve thought about that too Carl and I don’t know why that seems to be the case. I know there are women involved in ham radio and lots of other technical fields so why not Part 15? Hopefully that will change!

Part 15 and Gender
Women don’t have the support that the men have. I’ve been working with another female DJ trying to get a Part 15 up and running for nearly a year now. We want to do it right and sound good. The equipment costs a lot. We’ve had to save and get one thing at a time. I lost my boyfriend 2 months ago because he said I was putting far too much time into a “stupid” radio station fantasy. He suggested I put my attention where it is appreciated. So I did. We have a local community waiting to hear our station. It just can’t happen fast enough. Women breeze through this site and feel they have nothing to offer. I felt that way until I read this post. It is nice to know that we are welcome here. 🙂

Wow! It IS True!
Blare back. I just read the message from Miss Judy and suddenly part15.us came to life as only a woman can bring. Sadly, I wish your gentleman friend had been a little more patient as he eventually would have become your main volunteer. Maybe he’ll re-think. But, ya, it’s a cause, a mission, an expansion of the human voice! Good luck with your station and here on part15.us everyone will try to help and there is no such thing as looking bad. Consider my idiotic arguments over measuring milli-watts. There’s a name: Milly Watt, my make-believe girl-friend.
