October 09 2016 update

Well, I’ve not had much chance to participate here, nor, over at the Initiative recently, and, for that I
apologize! Much going on in my life.
The good news is that my Part 15 ops have proceeded smoothly, if mostly on “autopilot”. I am just short of
1000 pieces of royalty free classical music, running on a shuffled loop, from a spare smartphone for the time
being. I’ve lined up resources for an additional expansion, and, await only spare time to proceed.
The Sainsonic continues to transmit into a 50 ohm dummy load resistor, to witch a delibrately non resonant feedline and antenna is wired in parallel. Using a typical not-to-sensitive consumer receiver, I have my 200
foot radius as described by the FCC.
I’ve read something about a Linux program that I could use to gain more features and functions that a “real” radio station would have, but, replacing the smartphone with a full computer would increase station power consumption by abnout 70 watts. Affordable, but, not “green”. I’d much rather have a smartphone app that gave me even a limited subset of features: mainly: station I.D., Emergency alerts, and, time signals. Maybe time for me to learn to program, and make one for the community!
