So far the ideal newscast for streaming & low power radio is an unrealized dream.
Two sources, I.N.N. and F.R.N., are very reasonably priced, but hobby broadcasters who generate no income from their radio activity have no fund to tap. Although I.N.N. has offered their casts to us at no charge, I decline because it is unfair to use their good work without paying.
Other news sources are available by affiliate agreement, but require frequently filing reports, creating an administrative task the hobbyist has no time to fulfill.
Another peeve is that most available sources have no weekend or holiday service which leaves us in the dark at those times.
A pundit recently speaking about internet media called small operators “digital peasants,” and this certainly describes our position.
An ideal news source would be free for use, 7-days a week, and require only one “sign in” as an affiliate with no reporting requirement. The service would be self-supporting at no cost to its outlets.

Just curious
You brought up that other news services require filing reports. Which ones do that?

Good Question
We always use the expression “that’s a good question” when either someone is very much on point, or when the question exceeds our knowledge.
I no longer remember exactly which news sources require filing, but when I explored the options available I distinctly remember running across that requirement in one or more cases. Maybe I’ll repeat the trail and get more specific.
Probably someone else is aware of those news services which impose filing requirements.

theres some
FSN is good, but they dont do full weekend news, and it appears they take holiday’s off, since I’ve had the year in review by FSN airing since Christmas.
Fox news does allow affiliation with Part 15 stations, but you have to air their ads, sign a 2 year contract, report back, and you need a satellite. But they do fulltime news
The 2 year contract was the only reason I did not pick up Their news Service.
