Well it seems that Part15 is not the only site that has occasional hosting/maintenance pains.
My 50webs FREE host is not allowing access to my MRAM webpage. All the files are intact. I can logon to my account profile and see that. However, my FTP app is not allowed to logon.
Short story – I’ve copied my MRAM webpage to a mirror site heartandhoof.com/mram keeping things going until I figure out what happened at 50webs.
Too bad all the search engines don’t know that!

More Modern Problems
Is anyone else having problems with this website locking up Internet Explorer?
Seems like when loading the last object on some pages, a PCS-Electronics banner, IE locks up. This happens on more than one machine, different operating systems; 2k, XP and 7.
If you let IE restore the previous session upon opening, the same thing happens usually. So you restart again and start from the home page.
At first I thought it was my old clunker but the XYL’s new laptop with 7 does it too.

Yep
I use Firefox now to visit our site – FF works great!
I’m guessing it might be one of the security settings in IE that’s hanging things up.
Too much hassle to noodle it, FF for me ๐

More Modern Problems
MRAM,
I haven’t had this site lock up my IE8, but I fairly regularly get locked up on various other sites. I have no idea what the problem is, but I do know that it seems that if a site doesn’t respond to some portion of the protocol, the only way out is to go into Task Manager and kill IE. This is very frustrating when you have a bunch of IE tabs open. You lose all of them when you kill IE. I use Windows XP Home Edition and IE8 with all the latest automatic updates.
I check this site about once a day. Over the past few months when there have been a flurry of posts on the web about Part15.us being down, I never had a problem accessing, with one exception: I have my favorites set to http://part15.us/tracker which brings me to the forum. On some occasions, this didn’t work, but going to http://part15.us did work and I was then able to drill down to the forum.

since the move, i haven’t had
since the move, i haven’t had the time to reinstate the on- site pcs banners. currently, they come from offsite, and frequently are slow to load. i’ll fix that today. hopefully that will help you. i can also suggest, and recommend using firefox, chrome, or opera instead of IE. ๐
