Hello Everyone,
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day.
I have been playing around with Audacity and some free sound elements from various websites. I linked a sample below.

How Audacious
Dear Rock95seven:
Audacity is wonderful. For being a no cost open-source audio software it does just about everything anyone could ever want. Is this your first time with Audacity or are you taking the holiday to check out software you’ve had for awhile?
Your audio sample has good punch and excitement.

Totally Audacious
Carl,
I am taking advantage of the free time during the holiday to check out other options offered by Audacity. For the most part I only use it lightly and never really had a chance to try any of the effects.
Rock 95.7 fm has been off-the-air lately and I plan to put it back on this fall/winter. The part 15 hobby is great for passing the time when your stuck inside the house during a snow storm. lol
Rock 95.7 was sounding stale and had no life to it, with Audacity and some free material from the internet i plan on spicing things up this winter.
There are some great tools on Audacity but there are some I probably never will need so it’s good to know it’s there if i ever do.
What I want to do with the various formats we play is this,
record liners, jinlges and announcements to match whatever type of programming we are playing at the time. Weekends would be dance oriented, week days will be Rock with the exception of over-nights where the programming switches to talk. So the announcements played during a rock show will have a rock feel to them while talk would reflect the whatever the theme of the talk show is at the time.
Even though the programming is varied each of the elements used will hopefully have a familiar sound to remind the listener they are still listening to Rock 95.7. So if the station i.d. plays during the dance hour the I.D. will have a dance theme to it but with a familiar voice announcing the station name , location and purpose.
All of this will be done for free thanks to Audacity, free elements found on the internet and some good old fashioned elbow grease.
Thanks

Multi Format
Rock95seven:
It sounds like a real feast to be planning out several different formats all on one station. And although running one station is all one needs to stay very busy, you can always think about running several stations at the same time and having each format go full time.
I ran two stations for awhile, but the frustration was that I wanted to listen to both of them, and there was no way I could listen to 2 audio streams together. That is one kind of multi-tasking that doesn’t work.
And yes about having fun indoors during bad weather. Radio is amazing because it radiates right through the sleet and cold.
