Podcasted?
I didn’t hear your live show, but I’d love to listen. Is it podcasted?

See above
Carl,
Visit the website above and check the archives and podcast sections.
I was only supposed to be on in the first hour, but the host asked me to stay for hour two to take listener calls. It really was a lot of fun.

Any archive of it?
It’s been a long time… Per chance, do you still have a copy of this show?
Love to hear it.

Good Show!
I listened to both hours of Liberty Roundtable and found it an excellent showcase of the Part 15 subject. The host is very entertaining and the call ins were perfectly matched for variety and story sharing. I was especially curious about the reference to somebody who reports Part 15 activity to the FCC? What? Somebody with a personality disorder fowling the water? Is it still going on?

What’s that old saying?
“Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear!”
There are a number of folks out there who stridently proclaim that Part 15 broadcasting is illegal, that kits are illegal, that they report things to the FCC, etc., etc.
In my opinion, most are just ‘Trolls’ who love to stir things up whenever they see a group of people who are passionate about a hobby.
These disturbed folks love to watch their victims’ sphincters tighten and really get their kicks out of discouraging others. Like any other bully, Trolls grow big and strong in the dark and disappear in the bright light of reason.
Fortunately, the FCC is a public agency with excellent enforcement transparency and anyone who wants to can view enforcement activity, from the most minor to the most severe, at http://www.fcc.gov/eb/FieldNotices.
As my Scottish ancestors would say “If’n it din’a show up there, it din’a happen!”

This is what I was referring
This is what I was referring to on the show yesterday. It makes for interesting reading:

This guy wanted “clarification” on the FCC rules regarding Part 15 operation, so he e-mails an agent and then published their exchanges. Hey FCC! Look over here! This guy has some ground radials buried in his backyard! Puh-leeze.

Never did I suggest to the FCC that they look at any specific “guy” with “some ground radials,” or any other specific guy with operating conditions that might not be in compliance with Part 15.
Of course, you and everyone else are free to accept or reject this information, but hopefully without undue criticism and/or unwarranted censorship.

Rich,
I’m with the folks on
Rich,
I’m with the folks on the other board that thought you should have just left well enough alone. The fact that you contacted an agent to prove your knowlege was accuate was, to me, a bit much. And yes, my remarks you quoted above are how it comes across to some of us; i.e. asking a lot of questions sometimes raises suspicions. Now you are free to accept or reject my opinions if you wish, however I don’t think hobby broadcasters should face the prospect of closer inspection by the FCC.

I REJECT this information with due criticism! You rocked the boat (as usual) and published a bogus response from the FCC porclaiming it as the gospel truth. If you had been just 1/10th as diligent in analyzing the initial FCC response as you are in nitpicking your favorite technical details, you would have spotted the gross error in the initial response. You have some major backtracking to do before you get past this one!
I sincerely hope that you find something more productive to do with your time. You seem to be very intelligent. There ought to be another persuit, besides attempting to be the almighty citizen-enforcer of FCC part 15 rules, that would provide satisfaction and monetary gain.

Great post PhilB
And since we’re wandering a bit off topic, that will wrap it up.

Understanding Is Reached
Oh, O.K. Thank you for providing this insight into the whole frap. I thought it was telling that the F.C.C. gentleman said the purpose of the rules is to make the antenna inefficient, while here we are all trying to make it efficient (within the rules). We dream.
