Last week here at Part15.us we made the suggestion that low power radio might solve the ban on bull-horns imposed over on Wall Street. Someone else had the same idea, and now Wall Street has a voice at 107.1 mHz.
I read about this on Paul Thurst’s blog, and he got the story from John Anderson’s DIY Media site.
Scroll down about two stories and read about it

Not New
This is not any new idea. Radio has been used in protests many times before, especially overseas in protests on campuses.
Radio has also been used in rallies and fairground activities. Thing is..no one ever paid any attention to it until now..and that is only because finally, FINALLY…the US population, mostly the young, are standing up to corrupt system and drawing a rather large crowd..on site and off site.
Expect more of them….both the occupy protests as well as use of unconventional means to get the word out.
I read about this off another site and it pains me to see those talking about it are more concerned about the use of radio and if it falls within the legal limits than what the protesting is about…which to me seems more important than wondering if some signal is reaching beyond 200 feet.
Overlooking the point of the issue wont solve the issue…but I guess some will never see clearly now that the rain is gone.

Staying Alert
The use of micro-radio as a communications tool in the “Occupy Movement,” now in several cities in addition to New York, caused my to remember another story of our time shared weeks ago here on this site, the making unlicensed broadcasting a felony being introduced in New York.
Perhaps the ruling class anticipated the public use of micro-radio and invented a legal weapon to “take them out?”
Only a question. Not actually an opinion.
