Metal is my enemy.:)
I knew it would be hard to get a strong signal outside of the mobile home here, but i had no idea the signal would be so weak just a few feet outside my house.

My parking space is so tight here that the nose of my minivan touches the underskirting on my home.
But yet the signal sounds like it would would measure s2 on a decent multiband receiver.
Why so weak? Is the aluminum and wiring etc in the house that good at blocking the signal? It is loud and strong inside, in fact i had to move my boombox away from the sstran to reduce receiver overload.
setup is:
the antenna is hung on the wall
the ground is connected to the cable tv splitter
and the jumpers are removed
am i expecting too much in a tin can?

Even Steel does .Depends
kc8gpd says
is the mobile home yours or
is the mobile home yours or do you rent it? if it is yours and it is steel then attach the sstran in a weather proof box and a 102 inch base loaded antenna to it attach the ground to the mobile home. run power and audio to it and tune it up. problem solved.
ps: any trailer park official asks it’s an AM / FM Receiving antenna.
rock95seven says
Actually got a yes to do that
I do rent,
And they even suggested i attach the transmitter to the tounge of the home wich is most definetly steel.
My only drawback to that may be the reflection off of my minivan. You have to see the tiny parking spot we have here to understand what im talking about.
I have to park sideways otherwise the back end of my minivan would be at least 2 feet from the road.
Wich leaves me with no where for friends or family to park, usually i end up moving the van to let someone park next to it.
Parking was a after thought here, lol.
But i think thats where the sstran will end up at.
