The show is titled “Storm Approach” and was compiled during the tense moments prior to the devastation of the east coast of the U.S.
There are a few WCCO mentions with a 1992 Air Check we found of 17-year veteran Ruth Koscielak, an excellent broadcaster who today is continuing to do radio-related projects, there will be more in future editions of LPH;
Once again we spotlight WCCO, the 50kW Minneapolis station that sweeps across the U.S. and Canada at night, when Tommy Mischke comes to work. We have a moment from Mischke to share our appreciation of this gifted air man.
Other stuff includes Gary Owen’s Funny Side of Bonnie & Clyde.

Life Stops Going On
Recently MRAM 1500 reported the death of Kevin Smith, producer and host of a popular paranormal radio show.
Meanwhile, day by day, I (Mister Carl) keep checking for a new episode of Ruth Today, the program of Ruth Kosielak, one time mid-day host on WCCO Minneapolis, but her last show is always May 13.
Then, over on WBCQ The Planet, the shortwave AM FM stations of Allan Weiner Worldwide, the death of his wife Jennifer happened unexpectedly.
Oh, and not another one, but Tommy Mischke has gone off, perhaps the last true radio personality on U.S. radio. At least he didn’t die.
Yes, on 50,000 Watt WCCO from Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, T.D.Mischke abruptly announced departure from a radio career.

Damn. Now all we have is the clones, jabbering and posing. We have weather, traffic, sports and spots.
Low Power Hour No. 79 will dig into the situation and autopsy what remains of good old AM radio.
