tired of every time i turn on the damn TV i see the two biggest turd er candidates for president slinging s*** at one another, i’m sick and tired of the same theme from all of them, balance the budget on the backs of those least able to afford it the middle class, poor, and disabled. heaven forbid we take a chunk out of that big fat defense budget pie and ask the billionaires to put a little more into the pie at least the same percentage as the middle class. nope tax the middle class more, reduce and/or cut off benefits to the poor and disabled.
i haven’t turned on the tv in a week because i have gotten exhausted mentally from political s*** slinging overload.
i do not believe i will be watching tv till after november. i’ll watch my collection of VHS movies till it’s all over!!!!!
i don’t want to vote for either one of them. different words but same story!!!!

Low Culture
Way back ago some half-way talented actors did a semi-convincing job of appearing to be cultured statesmen who knew how to string words together like a good magic trick at Branson, Missouri. The price of admission was one vote, now and then.
Now the gold spooned descendants of those early shysters have lost all charm and mastered little in the way of tying their shoe strings or neck ware, tasks done for them by immigrant staff.
They may have gotten worse, but we, the public, haven’t gotten smarter. We still take seriously some notion of “voting” to fix the broken barn doors long after the horses have left with the cows.
If voting were any good we’d pay for the privilege. But it’s only a give away. “You get what you pay for,” is only a Madison Avenue slogan anyway, within walking distance of Wall Street.
I tie my own shoes. Vote for me. It’s FREE!

Way Off Topic for This Venue?
Possibly someone could explain/justify why and how the previous comments in this thread might relate to those who wish to operate unlicensed transmit systems that are functionally compliant with Part 15?

they might and they might
they might and they might not. it’s a blog not a forum post. politics and the current crook in chief always has some bearing on part 15 and what we do here as they have the ultimate power to squash us like a bug and even knock you back a few pegs.
but in this instance i’m just frustrated as hell with all the current crooks and the new ones lining up to take the current crooks place and all the political slinging and the same theme. crush the middle class, wage war on the poor and disabled, protect their rich buddies.

It’s All in the Function
Functional compliance and functional literacy are among the many functions served by the part 15 arts. Radio stations are not merely technical, they are also audible fountains of word chains carrying human messages.
The RF engineer provides the carrier, the radio artist produces something for carriage, by way of expressed thought.
It’s a holistic system composed of its several functions.

Science and Art
The RF engineer provides the carrier, the radio artist produces something for carriage, by way of expressed thought. It’s a holistic system composed of its several functions.
Science provides the means for radio transmission, and audible fountains of word chains carrying human messages might provide a perceived reason for some, preferentially, to value such transmissions.
But the question remains as to the legality of such transmissions made from unlicensed systems that are not functionally compliant with Part 15 — whatever are the beliefs of the originators of such transmitted messages.
In the public record the FCC has not issued citations to any Part 15 operator based on the programs they have transmitted, only on technical infractions.

Now We Are Off Topic
We just took an unexpected jump in the continuum into an un-signaled territory of “non-compliant part 15 operation.”
No field strength measurements were taken of comments made on this web blog because we are not on the air right now and part 15 does not apply.
We would NEVER make our preferentially valued human messaging aboard a non-compliant radio frequency carrier unless it had first been fully tested with small measuring equipment.
Mr. rich, why did you insert the possible accusation that we are violating the FCC rules?

I Shouldn’t Get Involved…
I had a long reply regarding reasons to shut down a Part 15 operation other than program content but I don’t want to continue this negativity.
Let’s concentrate on how much fun this hobby is. OOOOh, did I call this a hobby? Sorry.

LInks In A Chain
“explain/justify why and how the previous comments in this thread might relate to those who wish to operate unlicensed transmit systems that are functionally compliant with Part 15?”
It is those who “act” like they give a darn about anything else are the ones we have to deal with in seeking out changes to the rules. It (this blog post) is VERY related to Part 15 and operating in compliance.
Robert is correct. These fellas thrown up on national TV every day are worse than out of control pre school kids. We keep hearing about decency and honor and integrity but I tell you what I see nothing of that sort anywhere in these bozos.
Here is my statement about all of it. If anyone is really truly believing ANY of these idiots (politicians), you deserve what you voted for..after November, and before..the last time people got duped and swooped into a massive mind melding lie.
Those who wish to go through it again for another 4 years with or without the same fake puppet in the throne..by all means put yourselves through that virtual world reality and give to your masters as the good book says.
In the meantime, don’t tread on me!!

Slowly Solving the Case
A pattern may have emerged, in my view, as to possibly explain a recurring theme between Mr. rich and the bloggers of part 15.
One of us will speak critically of some aspect of the rules.
Soon thereafter, rich will scold as here….
“But the question remains as to the legality of such transmissions made from unlicensed systems that are not functionally compliant with Part 15 — whatever are the beliefs of the originators of such transmitted messages.”
Could it possibly be that rich confuses criticism with non-compliance?

Worn Out Record
Frankly I think it’s time to change out that old worn out phonograph. The groves are smoothed down and the message from the recording is muffled and attenuated and the stylus is nothing but a little piece of metal that once held a needle.

Give Him A BREAK Guys! Seriously!
to be honest with you, i think reverend rob just went off his rocker, (i do that sometimes my self) so just give him a BREAK guys! seriously! i think were all right on this… part 15 does has its share in some politics, but not all of the politics in our country, but reverend rob i don’t think you need to be concerned with “part 15 in politics” at least not right now or right away, maybe later we can be a little bit more concerned as it turns up….

I think others have said it
I think others have said it all, but a quick comment as to content.
I don’t know if there are facts behind the statement that the FCC has never shut down a station, Part 15 or otherwise, for content. Somehow, I doubt it.
I do know that in Canada, our FCC is split out into two bodies, Industry Canada for the technical side, and the CRTC for the content side.
And the CRTC WILL shut down a station for content. In fact, in the BETS guidelines (unlicensed broadcasting guidelines, one of the equivalents to the Part 15 rules in the U.S., we have several which make up our whole set of guidelines), the CRTC specifically states that unlicensed broadcasters in Canada cannot have political content (whatever that means, they leave it open). And all unlicensed broadcasters have to adhere to the same standards of conduct as regular licensed stations (i.e., none of the ‘isms, such as racism, sexism, etc., do not violate community standards for language, and lots more).
