Talking about Section Part 15 of The Rules, I suddenly notice Subparts F through H which are not seen on my old printed copy, so maybe new sections are being added.

15.1510 is interesting: “Through Wall Imaging Systems.”
Subpart H might offer something for hobby broadcasters: “TV Band Devices.”

TV Band Devices
Hi Carl:
I just took a real quick look at Subpart H. It looks like these
TV Band Devices are only for point to point communication,
and they have to be intelligent enough to access an
internet database and listen to the spectrum in order to
protect what ever else may be on the channel. It seems
to me that these TV Band Devices (TVBDs) then calculate
on their own where to transmit.
The regulations talk about protecting TV stations (HD and LPTV).
They also talk about the protection of wireless mikes and auxiliary
stations, which means to me that wireless mikes and auxiliary
stations are not the same thing and operate under different rules.
When the wireless mikes and auxiliary stations were mentioned,
there was also mention of Part 74. I thought that those Part 74
devices had already become Part 15 devices a couple of months ago.
Remember all the speculation about a certain transmitter that would
do FM on 87.5 and 87.7? I wonder if the rules for that unit are
still the same?
I’m not at all sure what this means. I just thought I would bring
it up so we could all take a look at it.
Best Wishes to all!

OOOps!
Looks like I missed the discussion of the possible
outcome of the TV channel 5 and 6 spectrum.
That subject was already brought up on this website
on June 29th and how it might effect us has already
been discussed.
Best Wishes
