Much can be said about the use and function of Compressors and limiters. I am using two BOSS PRO CL-50 units which are very nice units with very good distortion figures. A comment was made to me from Europe the oter day about just how brilliant the audio was coming out of SAM V4. I surly have to agree with. This company has audio processing that is pretty hard to duplicate with off the shelf equipment. Congratulations must go to there South Africain Programmer who has done the job. The sounds even from tired old MP3 tracks is astounding.

I am no expert on this topic but I learn by reading. Are you using your system for part 15 broadcast or for other uses?
My .02 dollars is I am using the SSTRAN AMT3000 with a built- in audio processor. Makes me happy with how it works.
On FM, I use an Alesis Nanocompressor feeding a Ramsey FM 25. This also suits my mood.
Any other details about your setup that you wish to share?

I was using an AltoCLE.02 compressor/limiter even before I started Part15ing. I still use the compressor/limiter to make recordings. People who play the recordings in their home or auto usually always comment on how clear and “bright” the audio is. I am a big fan of compression, when done correctly.
