AM1700 WEFR started testing on 1630 this afternoon. This is done for a potential move from 1700 due to early morning / early evening and night interference from 3 other commercial stations at those times. Limiting coverage 1700 had at those times to less than 1 block at times. Will provide updates. I'm sure there will be some tradeoff being 1630 is lower frequency.

Well looks like 1630 will be a failure. It's much worse almost wiped completely out after leaving driveway. At least 1700 got a 1/2 mile except times when reduced to a block or so.

Is that due to the night skywave or in the day too?

@mark I found there was more noise in the daytime on 1630. And the station out in Iowa was the problem at night.
