Glad to see that the forum's back up. I was beginning to miss it! I noticed this morning that someone has listed an SSTRAN AMT3000 on eBay - for a whopping $500 or best offer. Wishful thinking methinks, but you can't blame him for at least trying. Besides, they don't come up for sale very often, and someone might want one badly enough..........
It shouldn't be more than it was new in the kit. Wonder what it sold for new? I looked ....$93.00!! Someone wants $500?
Interesting that he's in Anchorage Alaska.. he ought to keep it, add a hundred ft lead. Who would investigate?
I heard of Part 15 AM use in Alaska, but not in the recent decade or so. Makes me wonder the story behind it.
SSTRAN ground to a halt and stopped taking orders in 2017 @mark. Ever since then, their transmitters have been increasingly hard to come by. This seller must be hoping to benefit from that. A few years ago, one was listed for considerably less (~US$150 IIRC) and it was gone in a few hours. It'll be interesting to see how long this one takes to sell. I'm thinking he might get $250 for it, though I don't think it's worth that.
@richpowers - there's an FCC Field Office in Anchorage.
Should have never sold mine. I miss it. Sounded real good.

Some ham dork would do a bush fly by just to hunt the signal, or somebody over at HB would send them.
