I'm looking to get back into Part 15 AM operations.

As such, I'm in need of an AM Transmitter. Whether it be a newer model Talking House, Rangemaster, Procaster, ect.

If I could possibly locate a Talking House ATU that would be awesome as well.

But at this time, I'm just wanting any AM transmitter.

You can usually pick up a new Talking House transmitter on e-bay for around $50 plus shipping.  I would stay away from used ones - there's usually a reason they're being sold.

I have a couple of almost new (just used in testing) Talking Signs (made by the same guys that brought you the ProCaster).  They're similar to the Talking House (the only difference is they have manual tuning rather than automatic), but much better built and in my experience, give you much better results with the supplied wire antenna.  They're both Part 15 and RSS210 certified.  I want to keep one (just in case) but if you're interested in the other, contact me via this Forum.

Above everything else I wish you could get an AMT5000 from SSTran.com, which I believe is the best Part 15 AM transmitter ever to exist.

Of course it's a kit which takes a few hours to assemble, but it's got to be the most efficient transmitter around, since the output stage passes most of the 100 milliWatts out to the antenna. It has a built in loading coil and can be adjusted from 34 mW to 346 mW, so that the user can fine-tune it to exactly 100 mW.

Maybe someone will decide to sell their fully built unit... if you see one on eBay GRAB IT!

I've always been a fan of the SSTran units, I'd love one, but that price tag is a good stab. I've considered just buying a new iAM unit, but I'm hoping to snag a used transmitter that someone doesn't need anymore.
