Part15(dot)us is a refuge from the world. In fact, this is an alternate world.

Our radio stations connect to the world but keep us prophylactically apart from it.

We talk about "news" only in terms of processed packets called "newscasts" which serve as placebos to vaccinate us against the world itself.

We are philanthropists contributing to world welfare through "public service" programming which requires no heavy lifting.

We "serve the community" and so become artificial community institutions.

Global warming and nuclear radiation is real only in so far as our programs admit.

Our playlist is a "reality filter" attenuating the side-bands of existence to "other channels".

We are more amazing than others can comprehend.
