i'm engineering an internet station for someone and they have RCS NextGen for the automation on one pc and SamCast for streaming on a second pc both on the same network.
i am having difficulty getting the two to talk to each other to send metadata in the stream.
anyone have experience here?
i am thinking it needs a script file on samcast for TCP (Scripted) to grab the metadata from nextgen. they have nextgen 2.13 (i think) running on xp and samcast running on win10.
Not to sound like a doink, but wouldn't RCS and/or SamCast be in good positions to help you out?
I hate to ask, but you are using these programs properly and legally, aren't you?
Daesen the III inquisits: "I hate to ask, but you are using these programs properly and legally, aren't you?"
The reason you "hate to ask" is because the question is rude.
I am formally requesting our Resident Hobby Agent weigh in on this one. No disrespect Mr. Blare, but a second opinon is needed.
Rude? Too bad. It's a valid question and an equally valid point: If one is using these products, would not the first consideration be to touch base at the outset with the companies who created them?
As was said in the first message, both RCS and/or SamCast are in the best positions to help P15E out.
RCS is not very familiar with SamCast and samcast wants to charge an extra fee to write a parsing file to interface nexgen and samcast.
someone somewhere has probably done this before and has a copy of that code to parse the xml metadata into samcast from nexgen.
