Now why can't we get this here!!!

I like the fact that there is no field strength limits and antenna limits so you can make 1 watt go as far as you can!

The transmitters can be any one...even the Chinese ones as long as it meets certain specs.......doesn't need a certification?

Even if we could have 1/4 watt with same rules as New Zealand it would be great.

Does this make anyone think of moving there...

Mark

Because no one HERE is strong enough to FIGHT for it.  Read the history about New Zealand and how they had to give the hobby broadcaster the Guard Bands within the FM band and the 1 Watt to help make it so that the hobby (So Called Pirate Broadcaster) less app to interfear with commercial broadcasting and other services.  Win Win.

When America is ready to stop being lazy and waiting for someone else to do the fighting for them you'll have the same rules.  In the Meantime some of us at The New Radio Revolution is fighting for just that the same rules here AS NZ.  Or close to it.  Welcome to the club.

The only problem is the pretty impressive size of The United States. The logistics would be a nightmare to work out. Might be easier to get them to just reactivate TV Channel 1 to free up Channel 6.

Thelegacy, I for one am getting kind of tired of hearing the 'only I get it' line about increasing power and range to Part 15 FM broadcasting.  Perhaps, and I know it's difficult to consider, most people just disagree with your opinions about how (and even why) to change things.

And since you keep on bringing up The Initiative, why don't you let us know what the projected date is to bring your completed petition before the FCC (if only to have an idea as to when these kinds of discussions are going to stop).
