I have been lurking for a while, this is my first post here.

I have been lurking for a while, this is my first post here.
When I read about the good prices for the Talking House transmitters on ebay, I decided to give it a try, checked ebay, and sure enough got one cheap.
I used info found here to build an antenna, set up ZaraRadio and some dsp processing etc. Then spent 3 days getting the hum out. I had the antenna on my metal roof, and could not get all the hum out till I moved the antenna away from the building.
Anyhow, it's all good now. The TH is a 5.0, but so far I am not really happy with the audio. Not that it is bad, it's just not great. The range is probably good enough, I live in a rural development that is about a mile square, and I cover most of it.
I provide wireless internet for the community, and intend to broadcast information about the service along with some regular programming. I havn't decided what yet. If I pick up a customer or two, it will pay for itself, but I really did it because I like "technical investigation".
So, I just wanted to say thanks for all that have taken the time to post here, and provide information and solutions. If it werent for you guys, I probably would never have taken the plunge, and I have had a lot of fun so far, so thanks again!

Robert

Robert,

WELCOME as a poster to the forum. Good to have you aboard.

Since you have been reading posts here you probably know about the search function with which you can find posts about the Talking House or almost any subject pertaining to part 15 operation. Thought I would mention this in case you missed it.

Feel free to contribute your adventures, ask questions, or just visit.

Neil

Good to hear from you!

You obviously know what you're doing. I'm sure
you can help us with our mysteries that we
encounter. Such as, audio chains and automation and
getting a little bit of RF energy to go as far as possible.

I read this board for quite a while before I jumped on in,
and I'm glad I did. There are some very nice people here.

Good luck with your station.

Best Wishes,
Bruce, MICRO1690/1700
