As I was about to go to bed last night, I decided to search for some more info. concerning the proposed ideas of the LPAM topic. Here's a website I stumbled across that some may enjoy reading: http://www.lpam.ws . This may help answer some questions that there may be about LPAM.

Travis,

Thanks for the link. I found Frank's (Easthill) letter to the FCC about 1 watt part 15 AM interesting and very reasonable.

Maybe changing the 3 meter antenna rule would be more useful to enhance AM range than allowing more power because this would allow existing transmitters which can work into a resistive load (base loaded antenna) to gain range without massive investment in new hardware by simply using longer antennas.

I also appreciated Daniel's post regarding perhaps giving consideration to amateur radio licensees since they have demonstrated at least a basic knowledge of the technology when they obtained their licenses.

Any thoughts on this?

Neil

Hey Neil,
Frank's Idea about the 1 watt pt.15 is a good idea. That could possibly increase range by a mile or so. And, the Idea about the taller antenna semms like a feasible solution. Also, Neil, I'll try to find a link to Frank's letter.
