The mistake dates from the time when the FCC converted from decimal to metric, and erroneously came up with 3-meters as the permitted length for an AM antenna under 15.219.

But the original length expressed in decimal numbers was not 10-feet as so many assume. There's more than one way to count.

The TECSUN PL-310 radio serves to demonstrate counting from zero... the dBu signal strength scale runs from zero to 99, for a total of 100 markers.

The old antenna length for 15.219 was zero to 10-feet, for a total of 11-feet.

The correct length in metric terms is 3.3924768-meters,

Top off those antennas.

Your eleven digits are the funniest thing I've heard all week and I'm still laughing.

Now try to top yourself.

Well if you count your digits backwards: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 + 5 make 11.

Ok, so, if I start on the left looking at the palm, the thumb comes first.

But you said count backwards, so I flip the hand and face the back, starting with the pinky.

Do I count the finger being used to count with, which gets counted again when switching to the other hand... no, that can't be right.

I come up with 12.
