Several members have apparently tried to contact other members by using the CONTACT button under NAVIGATION.  This button sends your message to the site administrators and is intended to be used for subjects requiring administrator attention such as site problems and questions about site operation.  We are not able to forward your messages to forum members.

To contact a member, click on the member's user name and look for the CONTACT button which appears on the left side of the screen.  When you click on this button your email will go through the site system to the intended recipient if they allow such contact.

Thanks,

Neil

My e-mail contact was originally open but then I got worried about security issues and closed it... only to become very friendly one day when it was re-opened.

What I have noticed is that most of the folks who send me e-mails ask me about technical things they could ask about here in the forum, and I refer them to use the forum to ask technical questions.

Now I am wondering if there's any reason why I should be contactible by e-mail??

Because I can be reached on two forum sites I am thinking that maybe my e-mail should be reserved for business and not hobby.

This will make a good discussion at the ALPB Meeting on Saturday, which is another place I can be reached.

We do receive technical questions via the admin contact function and, as Carl has expressed, these are best posted on the forum rather than in PMs to members.  Interestingly, when I reply to such queries advising that the question be posted on the forum it never is.

Members can disable the email contact function by clicking on their user name, selecting edit, and choose not to allow email contacts.  By default it is enabled.  No one is obliged to accept such emails, it is up to you.

Neil
