I've been apprising a lot of low-power folks about this in other forums and newsboards, because I'm considering it to be a very nice boost for us.

On a special broadcast of "Elementary" following the Super Bowl on CBS-TV, Sherlock Holmes - played by Johnny Lee Miller - tracked down a criminal after speaking to him over a cellphone. Sherlock heard his adversary fiddling with a radio in the background, tuning across several stations, and noticed a station that he could not hear at his own locale. Once he was face to face with the bad guy, he revealed that he found him by hearing a Greek micro-broadcaster that was particular to that neighborhood but heard nowhere else.

The writers could have called it a "pirate station", but instead referred to the station as a micro-broadcaster. It might be a fictional show, but I'm taking it as a legitimate nod to the movement. Thanks, Sherlock!

Thanks for that keen observation, Annandale Terrace, noticing the mention of "micro radio" by a Sherlock Holmes who not only knew his local dial but was aware of a micro-station at another location.

It would have been neat if Holmes teamed up with the micro-broadcaster to use the station as a tool to solve the rest of the mystery.

Maybe part 15 stations should give their GPS co-ordinates in Morse code.

I thought it was real cool.

I think he talked about one
radio station only covering
a few blocks, also. That must
have been the Greek microroadcaster.

One of the writers for that show
knows something about radio!
