@wefr Thanks! Appreciate that. I wanted that info to put here in the resources section, or redo the section in About Us and include that information as we welcome everyone here and it's good reference.
I'll post when the changes are added.
@wefr It contains a great bird's eye view of part 15 type legalities in other countries, but it doesn't help to clarify those rules. The only thing it says about Candian rules is:
Nothing about RSS-10
| FM devices may not exceed a field strength of 100 microvolts at 30 meters. AM devices are limited to 250 microvolts at 30 meters. All devices in Canada must have an antenna permanently attached to the transmitter. See Industry Canada BETS-1. |
@mark Sorry for the confusion, I was lost responding in the previous page of this thread... I meant the link which Roy had mentioned.
Mark, This may help you with the info you were looking for elsewhere. https://recnet.com/unlicensed for most countries including Canada
@mark Just a suggestion.. Will it let you change the title "Resources" in the main menu to something else?
I don't know what, maybe "Recent Post" because that is where it ends up, and that way we dont show a blank "Resources" page.
@richpowers I just looked. From what I see the resources is a permanent heading that is fixed. I can add things there but don't think I can change the heading.
I put the info about the rules in Canada and USA + other countries in about us as it is seen on the home page and when you look at the recent posts. I got the info from REC.com. about the other countries mentioned.
I just added RSS-210 to the Canada section.
Really that should have gone into resources.
I dont know much about it or what you have access to, but taking some quotes from:
https://www.elegantthemes.com/blog/wordpress/wordpress-header#:~:text=To%20get%20to%20the%20header,to%20edit%20the%20sit e's%20header.
...In WordPress, the header is quite possibly the most important element. It houses a navigation menu, a logo, and other important elements
...To access the WordPress header, you’ll need to first navigate to Appearance > Site Editor.
...To get to the header settings, you can either click the WordPress logo in the upper left corner of the editor or select the dropdown arrow, then choose Browse all templates.
Next, click on template parts in the WordPress menu. Finally, click Header to edit the site’s header.

...the header is very basic. That being said, you have the option to add or delete any WordPress blocks you’d like..

The answer is somewhere in that page, I dont know what you're looking at. Maybe you could give Artisian a call and ask.

I realize all that Mark, and get why you put those pages where you did. I'm just saying it would be great to remove or edit the title of Resources, so it's not a false door. - If you can figure your way in to do that.
@richpowers I, even if I knew how am not admin and don't have the authority to change headers. Artisan has resigned secondary admin duties and has nothing to do with it anymore unless he changes his mind. What should it be if not resources?
. What should it be if not resources?
My point is that you have, as a solution to not being able to edit the resources page, you moved the resources onto the About page. Great, it was an excellent solution.
But.. There is a predominant 'Resources' link which goes to a recent post page. So, that makes it appear that no resources are available
If we could just edit the title "Resources", or get rid of it alltogether, it would in effect solve the issue.
If you changed the name to Recent Post then everything would be labeled correctly
@richpowers I see what you are saying. The recent posts are there all the time. I can edit in the blank space to add something to resources. Yes something should be there.
I will think of something to put there. Maybe a good place to put something like at HB under "stations" for all to list their stations....format, transmitter, location and area covered. I could change resources to "stations". Or just put links there to read about starting a part 15 station. But I like that putting what I did in the "about us" will be seen by anyone who looks at the forum with interest and will check out the "about us" first and not the resources. But no matter what header topic you go to the recent posts are always there on the right.
