As the entire audience of KDX Worldround Radio I amount to only one listener because the station exists entirely for my pleasure. Owing to my wide range of tastes the station is never able to cover everything but that's because I'm not able to listen beyond a certain number of hours.

In the morning KDX is usually silent because first thoughts fill the space aided by natural quiet with outdoor sounds filtering in, which is a form of "newscast" as we detect birds, traffic and sometimes rain.

By 9:30 AM CDT it's time for a half-hour collection of newscasts from several bureaus giving a briefing on what "they've" all done during the night. People have a way of creating messes sufficient for daily reports.

10 AM is Free Talk Live with Ion, Mark and other co-hosts discussing novel news items, accepting phone calls and endlessly promoting bit-coin, the "liberty movement" and relaxation of drug prohibition. Like any station manager I think about canceling the show, but have not found anything better.

At noon Democracy Now drives me insane with the blaring rasp of Any Goodman's voice... she needs to pass control to her co-hosts, Germaine Chase and Juan Gonzalez. I could call her.

And so on, including a fair number of orchestral and chamber music concerts with a weekly opera, all of which I consider stopping each year that goes by, but inertia means standing in one place, so I never get around to it. Classical music employs the mind in a different way than verbal information and is higher in emotional content. It may not be healthy to indulge too much of it.

Than comes our mainstay, programs of skeptical free thought and atheism, among the most intelligent radio programs being produced by anyone, and I think of expanding to a 24-hour 7-day godless format but when the sun sets I close the station and welcome the deep-space-silence of the night. Good time for reading, designing circuits and writing essays the family will have hauled away in later years.

Somewhere amidst all that I take the time to cruise this forum to see what other broadcasters are doing and I must say there are some inventive people in this best kept secret hobby.

The only thing higher is membership in the ALPB.
