I actually had a TFT EAS 911 box installed along with the receiver deck and audio breakaway deck back in 2002, salvaged from a station that took a direct hit of lightning to the utility pole..knocked out practically everything in that place.
In fact I ended up with 90 percent of the equipment that got replaced. I still have about 70 percent of it still to go through.
After the miserably failed EAS blunder in November, I realized that my station has a better chance of being informed and warning its listeners if I simply looked out the window and took notes. So I have mine shut off and bypassed.
Besides...that printer ribbon and paper isn't cheap! One roll left of paper and one spare ribbon left.
I can't wait to hear your results with the outdoor antenna system using the cable coax ground as the ground system. Will be interesting!

not going to happen anytime soon i live in an apartment with no access to any true dirt ground (no outdoor antenna's except dish allowed)save for electrical and cable ground.
