Legacy, with all due respect as my friend, I agree with artisan that this isn't about Album Rock but a suspected pirate station, not what they are playing or who takes drugs or not.
We can talk about Album Rock all you want but start a thread about this topic. I went on a very small rant about Rap but in a thread where that was the topic.

It looks like the Williamson Rock 104 website has mostly disappeared (with a message about karma figuring prominently).
Karma huh? I guess this is some sort of veiled threat. Figures.
Now even the karma message is down, and visitors get a 404 (server not found) error.
The Facebook page is gone as well.
Maybe they'll come in a legal way, via AM (maybe even CQUAM).
They certainly could have stayed on as a streamer. Assuming of course they were streaming licensed and legal. Their stream sounded good. I had stumbled into a thread in some forum someplace about Williamson and there were plenty of people who were listening to the stream.

It didn't take long for the comments in the newspaper article to turn to pirate radio. I hadn't looked back on the newspaper article since it first was published:
They could have been legal, and by that I mean could have done it legally, not that what they were doing could have been legal. Kept the stream and went with an AM certified transmitter to get at least some legal range. Then work out a deal with the cable system in the town for putting the audio on TV too. I did that when I first started the station and have had the tunes on the cable system ever since. All legal and pretty good availability between AM and cable. I've never streamed. Too much dinking around. But since they had a stream already established...
I suppose this means I'll never get the T-shirt I ordered?

Reminder to all forum members, it is generally bad form and in fact a copywrite violation to copy full text articles from other publications and repost them here. Posting an excerpt and linking back to the source is ok, posting excerpts or references to other articles is ok, but not entire or even majority content; if you wish to repost the full content of an article from another publication, simply request permission from the author first, in some cases, they will allow it with proper accreditation.

When I saw the article, it was free to view for all (and accessible via a link from google).
It appears that since then, they've moved it into their premium content section, which requires a membership (and payment) to see it.
Sorry about that, but it's not my doing.
Free to view via the Internet, just not free to copy and repost. As the copyright holders, the author and publisher need to retain some degree of control over where and how their work is distributed.
I have had technical articles published here and there over the years and I know what it is like for this to happen. Thank you JPJ, for standing up for the writers.

Edit: Now it's back, available to read without a subscription. The story is bouncing around like a yo yo.

Oddly, yesterday for whatever reason, after reloading a couple times the whole article magically appeared.

Well, RBR reported that these guys were told they would be OK as long as they weren’t reported to the FCC. It doesn’t sound like they were intending to follow the rules, as they protest.
I’m also amused by the portrayal, in the comments, of HB as a group of professionals. Some maybe but certainly not all.
And 5 complaints from HB? You don’t need an enforcement team while they’re on the ‘job’.
