You need a Wikipedia page to get listed.  I made a Wikipedia for my internet radio station and it was deleted in like 6 hrs.

Hey, Wait a Minute. Say More About It

DJboutit I know your radio station and think it should be acceptable for listing.

I've never posted to Wikipedia, but have the impression it is a very open resource available to almost everyone and every topic.

Why do you think you were deleted by them?

I'll tell you something curious about Wiki pages that make mention of part 15 stations.. Search any licensed station on Wiki and it will pull up the page telling you about it, and below that will provide a list of other stations in that area..

For example, I'm just picking a station at random..   WKDM, it's an AM station that apparently broadcast in Chinese and Mexican.. (wow, what a random pick) anyway, it doesn't matter, any one you pick can illustrate this example..

scroll down to the bottom of the page just below "external links" and it provides a way to see other stations in that area.. in this case it's "Radio stations in the Metropolitan New York market" - expand that window and it shows all the other stations,

look under the "by call sign" section, note that some of them have a little number aside it, for example: WICR it as a little "2" on it.. now look at the key for what that 2 means and you discover that WICR is a Part 15 station.

1= Clear-channel stations with extended nighttime coverage.

2 = Part 15 station with notability.

3 = Stations share time on the frequency.

4= Transmits from atop the Empire State Building.

Djibouti

Still would like you to elaborate why your station was deleted within 6 hours of posting it.. and who has the authority to delete it?.. I really have never looked into how exactly Wiki works.

Ok, my above example doesn't work with all areas.. cause I'm not finding any part 15 stations in Georgia, but I guess that just means no one on Georgia has submitted their station to Wiki, but the method does work for many other areas.

Possible explanation found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/87.9_FM_Saucier

Evidently you must be a "notable part 15 station" to be included. The reasons cited for this particular stations deletion was expressed in these comments..

"Unlicensed part 15 radio station, no references in reliable third-party sources to meet verifiability or notability thresholds. As an unlicensed radio station, does not enjoy the general notability of FCC-licensed broadcast radio stations. Article's author has repeatedly altered the article to claim Class D status but per the FCC database there is no licensed radio station in the entire state of Mississippi on 87.9 FM. "

"Non-notable Part 15 station. As stated in nom, doesn't enjoy the notablity as other station do"

"Unlicensed and no indication of notability"

"doesn't meet notability guidelines either through licensing or references"

That's the key, for many entries. reliable third party sources. You can't simply write an article about you station (or much of anything else) without third party references to back it up.  Otherwise Wikipedia would be jammed full of made up stuff with no backing documentation.

Years ago I wrote an entry about myself, as an on air personality. I've been on the air for 45 years, you'd think that would be notable. But I didn't bother to include backing evidence, references, third party data, etc, and it was quickly deleted.  I didn't care enough to write it again and insert gobs of third party references.

I bet if you wrote an entry for a Part 15 station, and backed it up with online documentation -- magazine and newspaper articles, references from community leaders, documentation on network affiliations, music licensing, etc you could get an entry to stick.

Flirting with Notariety

As a rarified choice discovery, KDX avoids wide publicity while hoping to attract your better listeners, trusting that they'll have the mental radar to home in on our select programming.

Yet we experience a certain rejection at not being listed among many lesser stations.

Perhaps, based on Tim in Bovey's formula, our new slogan will tilt things in our favor:

KDX - Notable Since 2007.

Must Watch This

This headline fits what we've been talking about. CBS News found the man responsible for 1/3 of everything on Wikipedia!

Very Interesting Story and Interesting Man

I seem to find that the facts about what you are reading about is well researched and very informative and easy to understand.
