Winamp Goes Open Source after 27 years

It's my go to sound media player.  It even plays opus files with a plugin (in_opus.dll).

My first thought is, there goes the neighborhood.  I'm not a big fan of open source software.  It tends to be overly buggy, under documented and overly complex.  The only good thing is that it is free, but you often get what you pay for.

I'd rather pay a bit of money and get commercial quality software.

I've had some interesting experiences recently with open source software and SDR's.  I've had to comb through websites, blogs and forums to find fixes for issues - the comments by the developers are enlightening (in terms of expectations of support).
