Now, there's a bad prediction!  "Video Killed The Radio Star" by the Buggles was the first video played on MTV when they signed on the air at 12:01 AM on August 1, 1981.

How has that panned out?  Radio "stars" still exist. in fact, are still quite plentiful, depending on your definition of "star", but there are a lot of on the air folks with huge followings from talk show lunatics to music presenters.  Now, how's MTV doing? They've practically removed music from their channels. All the great music shows they started with are gone.  It's mostly become a vast wasteland of bad reality TV.

But I'll agree Sarah's video is excellent.

Blame that on the folks who wanted MTV to break the Album Rock format by playing Earth Wind and Fire and a few other artists against the sacred stature of Album Rock.  After MTV got sued for sticking to their guns it spoiled Radio too.  1984 is the year we weep.
