This week on Teenage Dreams, we feature music that placed on the Toronto Top 40 radio station CHUM charts for 1962, but didn't make the Billboard Hot 100. The show features a large number of Canadian and international singers, such as Bobby Curtola, Sandy Selsie, Pat Hervey, Helen Shapiro and lots more.
Next week, the theme of the show will be Walking, a natural complement to our recent show of Cars. You'll hear songs like Billy Billy Went a Walkin' by the Beau Marks, Walk On with the Duke by Gene Chandler and Walkin' You To School by the Rockin' R's.
The week after that is our 50th show special, where we feature music by crooners in the teen doowop era. Wikipedia defines a crooner as someone who sings in a soft, melodic manner, and that has a voice above other attributes (such as appearance). Featured will be such stars as Buddy Greco, James Darren, Frankie Laine, Tony Martin, Neil Diamond and many more. And true to our motto, we'll mostly be playing great songs that you've probably never heard, and certainly never charted on Billboard.
