Hopefully mainstream media gets a backbone in the coming year and remembers why it exists. It's not there to blindly regurgitate the ramblings of those in power.
I personally am very tired of reading the lies and misinformation daily put forward by politicians worldwide. Media is supposed to report facts, not propaganda. By just putting everything said 'out there', they're satisfying the desires of those who need to be in the spotlight, playing to their ego.
Just ignore this stuff!
If something is publicly said often enough, people start to believe it, no matter how outrageous it is. This phenomenon is called The Big Lie, and is a very effective way of manipulation.
That's why I won't carry news on my Part 15 station. I used to carry FSN. They tend to have more of a world view than most, but they're still typical mainstream in their approach. Local is the way to go if you're going to do it.
I generally only watch the news once or twice a week and hear some top of the hour news briefs on the radio. Anymore than that and it becomes nauseating - like fingernails on a chalkboard. The news ain't news anymore, it's often a propaganda engine.
Would like to have Walter Concrete back.
