Hi, I've been using zara radio on windows 10 without any problems, until the 1607 windows anniversary update. Ever since, the update, I can not get zara radio to save the settings in options, such as fade and stuff. The changed settings revert back to default when I close zara and reopen.
Anybody know how to fix?

I have Windows 10 on one of my computers but not the one running Zara Radio, that one I am still using Windows XP on.
Here is a suggestion you should try, it might just work.
If you have Zara Radio installed on DRIVE C: Follow my directions just as I have them. If not on Drive C: then look on the drive it IS installed on.
Also, it depends on if your computer is 64 BIT and your Windows 10 is 64 BIT.
Go to COMPUTER, look for DRIVE C:
Look for PROGRAM FILES, It might be in X64 PROGRAM FILES if 64 BIT OS.
Look for ZARASOFT folder, double click ZARASOFT folder.
Look for ZARARADIO folder (note: it won't be all caps like I am putting it here, it will be ZaraRadio.
Look for ZaraRadio.exe (Note: It may not show the .EXE, unless you have "hide known file extentions" in folder properties unchecked in FOLDER PROPERTIES!!)
Now RIGHT CLICK ZaraRadio.exe and choose PROPERTIES
Then COMPATIBILITY tab.
look for RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR in the settings area, put a check mark in the box and CLICK APPLY. Then OKAY
Try your program again and let me know if it worked if not there are other options in the properties area that we can try such as run this program in compatibilty mode.
We will cross that bridge if we need to.
Please report back, so I know if your situation has been resolved, if not I have other options we can try.

I've avoided using Win10 for anything radio related so I haven't had the chance to run Zara on one yet. Do as Bruce says but I'd run the compatiblity tool as well and run it on the recommended settings.
Though to save you some headache in the long run I'd go find a Windows 7 or XP box to run the automation, those auto reboots on Win10 are no bueno for radio.
My Windows 10 computer no longer reboots after a windows update unless I tell it to.
But, I did that when a drop down menu was available under ADVANCED OPTIONS, I see now that that option is missing.
I do not want to mess up my being opted out of automatic restarts, but looking in the options, I see where you can set the time of day you use your computer the most, try putting something like 12:00AM to 11:59PM as the time and see if that does not stop the automatic restarts. I have Windows 10 Home Edition with build 14393 all updates are current, but my PC will not reboot unless I allow it to, often I see in the start menu "RESTART AND INSTALL UPDATES" or "INSTALL UPDATES AND SHUT SYSTEM DOWN" So yes, my computer retained it's former settings before the drop down menu was removed with the latest OS release build.
I still have an WINDOWS.OLD folder on drive C: which is part of the last OS release, I can always go back to the former build if I wanted to and so can you, if you did not clean up your hard drive with DISC CLEAN UP and removed the WINDOWS.OLD folder. If it is still there, you can roll back to the last build of windows and then do what I did to stop automatic restarts.
Its under UPDATES & SECURITY.
Here is published instructions as to how I did it when I had the earlier build of Windows 10 and it still works, so those settings must have been saved in my Windows Registry and passed onto the latest build of Windows 10.

Yup, thats pretty much the case Mr. Bruce, my Win10 has no such option so you got lucky there! Though this does make me wonder if there is some backdoor way of doing it now. (FWIW My internet options don't even have the metered connection setting)
